Silvermoon opened its first retail outlet in Dunedin in 2000. In August 2009 we opened our 17th outlet in LynnMall in Auckland.Why such prolific growth? We believe we have found a gap in the market. New Zealand malls and shopping precincts traditionally had costume jewellers – with fast fashion and throw away accessories; and elite jewellers with diamonds and gold. Silvermoon caters for those shoppers between the two. We focus on areas the established jewellers ignore, such as body jewellery and bone carvings, while also specialising in silver jewellery. Our jewellery suits people who want something for themselves or for a friend, but don’t want to spend a fortune and who want the jewellery to last.

Our philosophy is to buy as much of our jewellery direct from the manufacturer where possible. We aim to get unique pieces at the best possible price. Our retail stores are renowned for their variety. At any Silvermoon location you will see a minimum of 7000 different jewellery items. We think that shopping should be fun and not intimidating in the slightest; so we have largely chosen to retail from kiosks as opposed to shops. This makes it easy to browse and see everything without feeling committed to buy.
